Here is another warm drink recipe for you to indulge in under the covers. It’s a Hot Chocolate Elixir that tastes heavenly and makes you feel just as sweet. This recipe is from my new Hot Winter Drinks E-book.

HOT CHOCOLATE ELIXIR RECIPE

This wintertime staple is far from your average instant hot chocolate. It is packed full of anti-oxidant rich and immune boosting properties that help protect the body against illness. We’ve added ashwaganda powder, a powerful Ayurvedic herb that helps reduce inflammation and stress, and mucuna powder, a tropical legume that soothes the nervous system and elevates mood. Cacao naturally stimulates the “love” chemical in your body, called phenylethylamine. This beverage will not only satisfy your taste buds, it will help balance your hormones, improve your mood and boost your libido!

INGREDIENTS

1 can coconut milk

12/2 tbsps. raw cacao powder

1-2 tbsp raw honey

1 tsp pure vanilla extract

½ tsp ashwaghanda powder (I like this one)

½ tsp mucuna powder

1-3 pinches of sea salt

pinch of cinnamon

DIRECTIONS

  1. Warm the milk in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Once it begins to simmer and has reached your desired temperature, remove from heat.
  3. Transfer milk to a blender along with all the other ingredients and blend until smooth and frothy.
  4. Serve immediately. Get under the covers and get cozy!!! Perfect with a cookie! 😉
